Introduction to Shibaixuan: Shibaixuan is also known as Suihan Thatched Cottage. It is a three-bay building on the top of the mountain and is the main building of the East Garden. The plaque is inscribed by Gu Wenbin, the owner of the garden. In the Song Dynasty, Mi Fu was obsessed with stones and would worship strange rocks when he saw them, so it was called "Mi Dian Stone Worshiping Pavilion". There are many strange stones in the courtyard to the north of this pavilion, so it was named "Stone Worshiping Pavilion". The patio south of the xuan is planted with pines, cypresses, hollies, square bamboos, and camellias. They all survive the winter and flourish only in the cold, so it is also called the "Suihan Thatched Cottage." Today, in Baishixuan, you can listen to Suzhou Pingtan and ancient music performances, which is also one of the characteristics of Yiyuan.
