Introduction to the Great Sutra Hall of Kumbum Monastery: The Great Sutra Hall is a Tibetan-style flat-roofed building with civil structure. It is the largest building in Kumbum Monastery and the highest authority of the religious organization of Kumbum Monastery. Its construction area is nearly 2,000 square meters and has 168 large columns. It is the place where the lamas of the temple gather to chant sutras. There is a Buddhist group mat in the hall, which can accommodate more than a thousand lamas to meditate and chant sutras collectively.
