Introduction to Mi Zhi Lanterns: Making lanterns on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month is an important custom in Mi Zhi. The Mizhi lantern originated in the Nanzhao period of Tang Dynasty and is said to be related to Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty. The people once held a waterway Dharma ceremony for him for seventy-seven forty-nine days.
