Introduction to the Public Hall: The original Tainan Public Hall was built by Wu Shangxin, a gentry of the Qing Dynasty, in the 10th year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1830 AD). It was built as the Tainan Mansion during the Japanese occupation and was later called the Tainan Public Hall. It was an important gathering space for citizens at that time. On June 26, the 87th year of the Republic of China (1998), it was announced as a designated historic site by Tainan City.
