Introduction to the apse: Today's apse of Longshan Temple was rebuilt in 1936 and is a single-eaves hard-mounted building. The hall is five rooms wide and three rooms deep, and is mostly constructed of Taiwanese cypress. The wooden frame was made by Huang Shentong, a Lukang craftsman, and the sculptures on the pillars were the work of Shi Jinfu, a Lukang craftsman.
