Introduction to Tianhou Temple: Lukang Tianhou Temple, also known as the Old Ancestral Palace or the Notre Dame Palace, was built in 321 BC. It is the only temple in Taiwan that enshrines the statue of Our Lady, the founder of the Meizhou Ancestral Temple. Later, it was rebuilt in the 20th year of Jiaqing (1815), the 13th year of Tongzhi (1874), and 1936, forming its current scale. Because of the many miracles performed by Thean Hou Temple and the efficient management of palace affairs, the incense has always been flourishing. Now believers are spread all over the world. It is a very representative Mazu temple in Taiwan. It is also used for researching historical materials, archaeological research, exploring folk beliefs, etc. A treasure in the eyes of local people.
