Introduction to the Old Town: Old town (Vanalinn in Estonian) is part of Tallinn (Tallinn). It was built in the 13th century and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. The city is divided into two parts: the Cathedral Hill, also known as the Upper City, is where Estonian nobles and bishops live; the Lower City is the most well-protected old city in Europe, and is still undergoing restoration work.
