Building introduction: The church building is located in the north and faces south. It has a blue brick and wooden structure, 47 meters long, 15 meters wide and 22 meters high. There was originally a Wanghai Tower here, built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. It was once a place where the Qing emperors visited Tianjin when they visited Tianjin. There are also popular temples such as Chongxi Temple and Wanghai Temple nearby. In December 1869, French missionary Xie Gospel presided over the demolition of Chongxi Temple and built this sizable Catholic church on the original foundation.
