Introduction to the archway: There are three original archways in Fuxi Temple, namely the "Opening the Sky to Mingdao", "Jietian Liji" and "Opening the Things to Success" archways. Among them, the "Kaitian Mingdao" archway is located on the platform in front of the gate. It was built in the second year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1523). The archway is 11 meters high, with a width of 3 rooms and a plan of 10 meters. It has three eaves and two-level verandah roof. After repeated reconstruction, it still shows the architectural style of the Ming Dynasty.
The "Jitian Liji" archway and the "Kaiwu Chengwu" archway are located on the street in front of Taiji. The former is in the east and the latter is in the west. They are built across the street and face each other. The east archway is bounded by the east wall of Fuxi Temple, and the west archway is bounded by the west wall. A stone is erected under each archway, with inscriptions warning passers-by: Riders on horseback to dismount, and those in sedan chairs to dismount from sedan chairs, to show respect for Fuxi. These two archways were first established in 1958 when trams were opened in Tianshui City, and the lines passed through them. Without affecting operations, the base of the archway was overall raised by about 1 meter and was later demolished in April 1972.
