In November 1938, Wang Yi, the highest military and administrative officer who commanded the Hainan Island Anti-Japanese War - Qiongya Garrison Commander Wang Yi, inscribed on this cliff in Tianya Haijiao. The word "Cape" was chosen, with the intention of fighting the Japanese invaders and surviving the desperate situation. After seven years of arduous war of resistance, Wang Yi accepted Japan's surrender as the surrendered general of Hainan Island.
