Introduction to Yaohuang Palace: In the garment area on the northwest side of the square, there is an ancient building built in the 47th year of Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1708) - Yaohuang Palace, which is dedicated to the Yaohuang Emperor Shennong. The Yaohuang Hall plays an important role in the history of medicine in Ningbo. Not only does it enshrine Shennong, but it has also become an important place for medicinal materials and famous doctors from the north and south of Ningbo in modern times to gather and hold meetings. The main hall of the main building that still exists now covers an area of about 1,600 square meters. During the construction of Tianyi Square, the building was repaired and preserved many exquisite wood carvings, stone carvings, brick carvings and other patterns in the hall. The statue of the Medicine Emperor Shennong was also reshaped. Now Yaohuangdian has become the pharmacy of Ningbo Dahongying Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and is also an exhibition hall of Ningbo’s pharmaceutical history.
