Introduction to Jizhacang: The largest Zhacang in Sera Monastery covers an area of 1,702 square meters, second only to the Tsoqen Hall. It was first built in 1435, and the founder was Gongjiuluozhen Rinchen Sengge. Rinchen Sengge is a Tibetan. When he was young, he worshiped Sakyamuni and failed to become his teacher. Later, he learned Sutra and Esoteric teachings from Tsongkhapa, and built Jizhacang according to the wishes of Tsongkhapa (the founder of the Gelug Sect), which is the first Ren Khenpo (abbot). Jizhacang is four stories high and has 100 pillars in the sutra hall alone. Thangkas, umbrella covers and curtains are hung all over the sutra hall, and the surrounding walls are painted with the biography of Sakyamuni and various statues of protector gods.
