Introduction to the Golden Seal of the Fifth Dalai Lama: After the fifth Dalai Lama went to Beijing to pay homage to Emperor Shunzhi in order to gain support from the central government of the Qing Dynasty, Shunzhi enthroned the seal issued by the fifth Dalai Lama. The seal is made of pure gold and weighs 8.5 kilograms. The seal is in four languages: Chinese, Tibetan, Manchu and Mongolian, and is engraved with the words "The seal of the Dalai Lama, the ordinary Watila Dalai Lama who leads Buddhism in the world". Since then, all Dalai Lamas have been recognized by the central government.
