Introduction to the Red Palace: The Red Palace is located in the center of the Potala Palace. The outer wall is red. It mainly houses the Dalai Lama’s pagoda hall and various Buddhist temples. There are five pagoda halls in total, namely the fifth, seventh, eighth, ninth and thirteenth generations. The largest of them is the Pagoda Hall of the 5th Dalai Lama (Zanglin Jingji), and the latest one is the Pagoda Hall of the 13th Dalai Lama (Gelaidunjue). Some palaces in the Red Palace are also very important. For example, in the west of the largest palace of the Red Palace, there is the Great Hall of Silence and Perfection (Tsochen Nusi Phuntsok), the Three Realms Prosperity Hall (Sassong Namgyal), the Mandala Hall (Lola Kang), etc.
