Introduction to the protected area: The predecessor of the Tongling Freshwater Dolphin National Nature Reserve is the Tongling Baiji Conservation Area. It is an inland freshwater wetland type nature reserve mainly composed of tidal wetlands, covering the Yangtze River Embankment ( Including land such as tidal flats and Jiangxin Island) as well as estuary waters and land areas connected to the Yangtze River.
