Ecological introduction: Xianghai has complex terrain, diverse habitats, and a variety of biota and complex ecological environments interpenetrating each other. The area has 29,000 hectares of woodland, 12,500 hectares of lakes and waters, 23,600 hectares of reed swamps, and 30,400 hectares of grasslands, forming four major ecological landscapes: dune elm forest, lake waters, cattail reed marshes, and Leymus chinensis grassland. Sand dunes, grasslands, swamps and lakes are alternately distributed, criss-crossing and dotted, forming a typical wetland diversity landscape.
