Introduction to the statues of Guo Ziyi and his wife: On the west side of the main hall are the seated statues of Guo Ziyi and his wife. Legend has it that Guo Ziyi was named King of Fenyang and was stationed in Hancheng. Because of his outstanding political achievements in Hancheng, the local people commemorated his merits and expressed their respect for him, so they enshrined him in Dayu Temple. Worshiping Guo Ziyi as a god like this is unique not only in Hancheng, but also in the country. In Dayu Temple, in addition to Guo Ziyi, his wife is also worshiped as a god. The 2-meter-high seated statue of Mrs. Guo looks like a gentle and charitable mother, holding babies in her arms, raising her hands, lying on her shoulders, and sitting on her knees. Because she gave birth to many children, the locals respected her as the "Mother of the Children". Many people worshiped in front of her statue and prayed for children.
