Introduction to the Roman aqueduct: The Roman aqueduct (El Acueducto) in Segovia was built in the first century AD. This aqueduct was used to draw water to higher areas of the city. It is 728 meters long and has 166 A bridge hole, with a maximum height of 29 meters, was built entirely with huge stones without using any mortar or cement. It is one of the most complete protected monuments of the Roman Empire to date, and has become a symbol of Segovia.
