Introduction to Royal Bridge: Le Pont Royal was built in the late 17th century with donations from Louis XIV, and later became a place for Parisians to hold celebrations. Historically, the wedding celebration of Princess Elizabeth of France and Prince Philip of Spain was centered on this bridge, which attracted 500,000 people to watch. On the south bank of the bridge is the building where the thinker Voltaire worked. He died in this small building on May 30, 1778.
