Introduction to the New Bridge: The New Bridge (Pontneuf) is the first bridge in Paris. The foundation stone was laid by Henry III in 1578. The project was interrupted due to the civil war. By 1606, it was completed in the era of Henry IV. The new bridge is 238 meters long and 20 meters wide, making it the longest bridge on the Seine River in Paris. The Pont Neuf connects the Paris City Hall with the residents on the other side. For two centuries after its completion, it has been the commercial center of Paris and still inspires the creative enthusiasm of artists today.
