Introduction to Cijin: Cijin is a municipal district of Kaohsiung, located on Cijin Island in the southwest, facing Kaohsiung Port from Gushan District, Yancheng District, Qianzhen District and Xiaogang District. Cijin was originally connected to the main island of Taiwan, but in 1967, in order to open a second port, Kaohsiung Port cut off the Cijin Peninsula that extended out to the sea, making Cijin an isolated island across the sea. Later, the cross-harbour tunnel was completed, and the two places were connected again. As a result, Cijin's tourism developed further and became a tourist destination attracting tourists with beaches, seafood, ferries and historical sites.
