Introduction to Tuoyuan Books: The original site of Haidian Park was the West Garden built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. Its main building, "Tiaoyuan Bookstore", was the living room and study room of Crown Prince Yunfeng. It is near Qingxi River and far away. On the opposite mountain, there are evergreen pines and cypresses and lush bamboo trees. It is elegant and quiet, making it a good place for reading. During the Qianlong period, Hongli paid his respects to the Empress Dowager in Changchun Garden, where he passed meals, served as director, recited poems and read books.
