Introduction to Chinatown: Since the 1950s, Prato has received a large number of immigrants, initially from southern Italy and later from abroad. The most prominent among them is the influx of Chinese immigrants who began to pour in in the late 1980s. Today, it has become the city with the second largest number of Chinese immigrants in Italy after Milan, and is a veritable Chinatown.
