Introduction to the town of Balestrand: Balestrand is a small town at the intersection of the Sognefjord and the Sognarfjord. The snow in the mountains in the distance never melts all year round, and the valley is covered with green grass in summer. It is a famous "painter village" in Norway. There is the famous "Historic Hotel" on the pier in the town. The tourist service center is next to the station and can provide hiking route maps, or arrange boating, hiking, and bicycle rentals.
