Introduction to the Battle of Weixian: The "Memory of the Battle of Weixian" in the monument was written by Wang Qingde, former vice chairman of the CPPCC. From April 2, 1948, to 12:00 on the 27th, the entire city of Weixian County was captured. In this battle, 46,000 Kuomintang troops were wiped out, countless weapons and ammunition were seized, and the three liberated areas of Jiaodong, Bohai, and Central Shandong were connected. The Kuomintang's "Central Shandong Fortress" was removed, further isolating the enemies of Jinan and Qingdao, and beneficially promoted the liberation of Shandong and even the whole country.
