Introduction to the petroglyphs of Chuijiltag Mountain: The petroglyphs of Chuijiltag Mountain are located 55 kilometers northwest of Tuokxun County. Dozens of lifelike ancient rock paintings of various shapes are scattered on the hilly stone walls or fallen khaki sandstone of the more than ten to twenty kilometers long Kolgayi Valley. The petroglyphs have patterns of grazing, hunting, and water diversion for irrigation. They mainly feature animals, including deer, camels, leopards, tigers, wolves, dogs, and the most common ones are bighorn sheep. The characters in the painting are either walking or standing, shooting arrows or riding camels. They wear big fur hats, long-waisted boots and belts around their waists, and they look majestic. The rock paintings in Chuijirtag Mountain have smooth lines, even sparseness, reasonable layout, and superb carving skills. They truly reflect the life and grazing scenes of ancient people and are works of the Neolithic Age.
