Introduction to the Monument to the Founders of the City of Kiev: The Monument to the Founders of the City of Kiev was built in 1982 to commemorate the 1500th anniversary of the founding of the city of Kiev. The monument is located on the right bank of the Dnieper River. It is carved from granite. There are four figures on the monument. The four people are on a boat. According to legend, in the early 5th century, the three brothers Ki, Sheik, and Khalif and their beautiful sister Lebezi established a city on the right bank of the Dnieper River. The city was named after the eldest brother Kiev, so it was called Kiev, that is, The capital of Ukraine.
