Introduction to the Church of Our Lady of Ankang: The Church of Our Lady of Ankang (Chiesa di Santa Maria della Salute) was built in 1630 when the Black Death was raging. The government of the Republic decided to build a church dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The church was designed by the famous designer Badassare · Designed by Longner and officially completed in 1687, it is a masterpiece of Venetian Baroque architecture.
The main chapel of the church is an octagon with a huge dome, surrounded by six chapels. The sacristy facing the main altar has a mural depicting the Old Testament story "David and Goliath" by The ceiling paintings created by Titian and "The Wedding of Cana" by Tindotto are both worthy of appreciation.
