Introduction to Prince Eugen: Prince Eugenio di Savoia was one of the great generals of the Habsburg Dynasty and Field Marshal of the Holy Roman Empire. He was considered by Napoleon to be one of the seven famous senior generals worthy of his imitation. He was a hero who made outstanding achievements in the war against Turkish aggression. The current statue was erected in Heroes Square on his birthday in 202. It is the first monument to non-royal members within the scope of the Vienna Royal Palace.
