Introduction to Yuxiu Tower: Yuxiu Tower was built in 1931 by Wu Tianjing, an overseas Chinese in the Philippines. Starting from August 23, 1958, the troops where the PLA martyr An Yemin was alive launched an artillery battle with the Kinmen Kuomintang army in Weitou. Yuxiu Tower was shelled by the Kuomintang army, and the walls were riddled with bullet holes. Yuxiu Tower is a red tourist attraction during the "8·23" artillery battle. It is rated as a "municipal cultural relic protection unit" by Jinjiang City and a "national defense education base" in Quanzhou City and Jinjiang City.
