West Wing Introduction: The West Wing was hosted by President Theodore Roosevelt and built in 1902. It is mainly the office of the president and his staff. The President's Office is an oval structure, spacious and bright. The floor is covered with a huge blue carpet. In the center of the carpet is woven the golden emblem of the President of the United States: 50 stars arranged in a circle, surrounding an eagle. The back of the office is flanked by an American flag and a presidential flag. On the front wall is a majestic oil portrait of Washington in military uniform, with two elegant Chinese ancient porcelain vases on both sides. The wall shelf on the left side of the office displays gifts from foreign dignitaries, including the "Horse Treading on Flying Swallows" antique bronze presented by China in 1979. On the president's large desk sits the motto: "Here lies the final responsibility."
