Map Room Introduction: The Map Room collects various versions of modern atlases and a precious map drawn in the 18th century. During World War II, this was the secret room where President Roosevelt studied the war situation. Since 1970, it has been converted into a reception room, where portraits of Benjamin Franklin and landscapes from the 19th-century American Hudson River School are hung.
