Introduction to the Round Tower: The Round Tower was originally built of wood, but was rebuilt in stone by Henry II in 1170. Before 1660, the Round Tower was a prison for political opponents of the royal family. Now it is mainly used to preserve royal documents and photography collections. Whenever the Queen comes to Windsor Castle, the British royal flag will be raised here. The lower area mainly contains buildings such as St. George's Chapel and Albert Memorial Chapel.
