Introduction to the Xuanyue Archway: Commonly known as Xuanyue Gate, it is located 4 kilometers east of Wudang Mountain Town and is the first gateway into Wudang Mountain. The archway was built in the 31st year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (AD 1552). The archway is entirely assembled with mortises and rivets. It has a solemn and elegant shape, gorgeous decorations and a variety of figures and flower patterns carved on it. It can be called a masterpiece of stone carving art in the Ming Dynasty.
