Introduction to Thunder God Cave: It was excavated during the Yuan Tong period of the Yuan Dynasty. It was a place where Zhang Shouqing, a famous Taoist in Wudang Mountain, practiced the Qing Dynasty Thunder Method and prayed for rain. The thunder god enshrined in the stone hall is a clay sculpture from the Ming Dynasty, painted and decorated with gold. People call it Deng Tianjun. It is the largest thunder god statue in Wudang Mountain.
