Introduction to the Plum Garden: East Lake Plum Garden was founded in 1956. It currently covers an area of more than 800 acres and has more than 10,000 plum trees planted. It is also known as "Jiangnan" along with Nanjing's Meihua Mountain, Wuxi Plum Garden, and Shanghai's Dianshan Lake Plum Garden. "Four Plum Gardens".
East Lake Plum Garden is the location of the Chinese Plum Blossom Research Center. It now has more than 300 varieties of plum blossoms. In 2002, the Wuhan Municipal Government held the first Plum Blossom Festival here. Since then, plum blossoms have been officially included in major festivals organized by the municipal government. When the flowers bloom, , the sea of flowers is like a tide, and the fragrance is overflowing. It is known as the fragrant wave of the snow sea.
