Introduction to Dripping Water Guanyin: Dripping Water Guanyin is also called Xu Shenya. It is said that a scholar from out of town came to Qingliangzhai to visit friends, and fell in love at first sight with a woman in the village. They often met secretly here to make a lifelong promise. Later, the tribesmen found out about it and thought it was unethical, so they tried to stop him. The scholar met again the night before he left. The tribesmen arrived and forced the scholar to jump away without any harm. Everyone was puzzled. The scholar Xueyou understood and told his tribe about his dream about Guanyin Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva asked him to tell the tribe that the two people truly love each other and are a match made in heaven. They must not stop each other and do more good deeds, which is the beauty of adulthood. A flash of lightning was seen, and the night rain came. The tribesmen believed that the Bodhisattva appeared and fulfilled the marriage. From then on, the water was cut off, and this was how the Guanyin statue was built.
