Introduction to Yuanzhao Temple: Yuanzhao Temple is located opposite the bell tower of Xiantong Temple. It was called Puning Temple in ancient times. In the early years of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, in order to commemorate Sri Shah, an eminent Indian monk who came to China to preach Buddhism, Emperor Xuanzong of the Ming Dynasty ordered the construction of this temple on Mount Wutai. There is a white Lama Pagoda in the backyard of the temple, five feet high, with small towers at each corner. It has a unique shape. It is the stupa of the Indian eminent monk Sri Shah.
