Introduction to the ancient street: Xiatang on the right side of the Bodu River is the location of Wuxi’s ancient brick kilns. It is currently maintained as a living area, and many residential buildings are examples of squeezed space. You don’t have to worry about running into dead ends when walking through alleys. The smallest dripping alley between houses is one person wide. The buildings are complex but not messy. Neighbors hear each other’s chickens and dogs, but they don’t stay away from each other forever. There was peace.
