Introduction to the scenic spot: The Qingming Bridge Ancient Canal Scenic Area is one of the first batch of sites listed on the Grand Canal in China and is known as the "open-air museum by the canal". According to historical records, Tai Bo Ben Wu settled in Meili (today's Wuxi Meicun) more than 3,200 years ago, and dug the oldest canal in China, Bodu Port, in the Qingming Bridge Historical and Cultural District. Later, King Wu Fu Chai dug the Wuxi Ancient Canal, which was built in the Sui and Sui Dynasties. During the Yuan Dynasty, Bodu Port, the Wuxi Ancient Canal and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal were connected, becoming an important part of the waterway connecting China's north and south. By the Ming Dynasty, the neighborhood had reached its peak. After passing the "Canal Ancient Town" archway, tourists enter Shangtang District.
