Introduction to the Bell and Drum Towers: In the square in front of the Main Hall is the Bell Tower on the left and the Drum Tower on the right. The Bell and Drum Towers each cover an area of 50 square meters and are two-story Ming and Qing style buildings. The bronze bell in the bell tower was made in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. It weighs 6.6 tons and is 3.6 meters high. When struck gently, the sound is sweet and the echo lasts for two or three minutes. The surface of the bell is engraved with scriptures from the Diamond Sutra. Engraving scriptures on the big bell means to promote Buddhism and let the Buddhist scriptures be passed down for a long time. When the bell is struck once, every word is heard, which is equivalent to reciting the sutra once, and the merits are immeasurable. The mural on the bell tower depicts the story of Journey to the West. The big drum on the Drum Tower is made of buffalo hide from Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, with a diameter of more than 2 meters. Four wooden lions are used as the drum frame.
