Introduction to Jimen: The third gate of Confucius Temple is called Jimen, also known as Yimen and Holy Gate. This gate was built in the Ming Dynasty. It has a cross-shaped roof and three rooms. The middle is the main door, and there are symmetrical rooms on both sides for the civil and military officials during the sacrificial ceremony to tidy up their clothes and familiarize themselves with the rituals. In the past, weapons were displayed on both sides of the door, and military attaches had to put down their weapons before they could enter the Confucius Temple to worship Confucius.
