Introduction to the Six Horse Reliefs: The Six Horses Reliefs in the Zhaoling Mausoleum of the Tang Dynasty are modeled on the six meritorious war horses that Emperor Taizong Li Shimin rode during his battles. The works have well-proportioned proportions, crisp lines, and are highly realistic. They are masterpieces in the stone carving art of the Tang Dynasty. . Unfortunately, two of them, Sa Lu Zi and Quan Mao Wo, were lost overseas in their early years and are now in the Museum of the University of Pennsylvania in the United States.
