Introduction to the Jiang Clan Ancestral Hall: The Chiang Clan Ancestral Hall enshrines the ancestral shrines of the Jiang family since the founder Jiang Shijie moved to Xikou in the late Yuan Dynasty. More than 600 years of family history is condensed here. The four words "loyalty and filial piety" written on the archway at the entrance of the ancestral hall were written by Chiang Kai-shek himself. They expressed Chiang Kai-shek's expectations for the younger generations of the Chiang family and also revealed his own admiration for the Confucian tradition.
