Introduction to Mao’s Tomb: Mao’s Tomb was built on the east lawn of Maha Hall. On December 12, 1939, Japanese planes bombed Xikou and Mao was killed. His coffin was temporarily placed next to the Maha Hall and was buried in December 1946.
