Introduction to Chiang’s Mother Cemetery: Chiang Kai-shek’s mother, Wang Caiyu, was a native of Gezhu Village, Fenghua. The cemetery is entered through a four-pillar and three-door stone tablet square, and is paved with a 668-meter-long pebble road lined with pine forests. After passing the Sedan Pavilion and Ci'an, we arrived at Chiang's mother's tomb. The words "壣fanzu style" on the fan-shaped railing in the middle of the tomb and the words "Chiang's mother's tomb" on the horizontal tombstone were both written by Sun Yat-sen himself. Engraved on the head pillar is a couplet written by Chiang Kai-shek and handwritten by Zhang Jingjiang, the veteran of the Kuomintang: the first couplet "It was too late for the virtuous and kind-hearted people who were so stubborn that they regretted it"; the second couplet "I am ashamed to be a traitor and will live my whole life with heavy regret and hatred for Mi Ya", which expresses the fact that Chiang Kai-shek was a child because of his stubbornness. Naughty and mischievous, causing mother's "feeling of regret".
