Introduction to the Three Niches: Located under the Danbi Cliff on the west side of the Shimen Reservoir, the cave-shaped paradise is recessed more than 30 feet into a niche. Looking at the three niches from a distance, there are actually five niches connected together. It is referred to as a well with two niches, a pagoda with two niches, three niches for the Bodhisattva, four niches for the empress tower, and five niches for the old carving nest.
