Introduction to the West Tianshan National Nature Reserve: It is located in the western section of Zhongtian, on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Great Gilgelang River, a tributary of the Ili River, and originates from the three main rivers of melted snow from alpine glaciers in the Nalati Mountains ( Uleken Kurdenin, Shatbulak, and Xietiande) run parallel and north-south through the reserve. The high mountains on the north, east, and south sides of the reserve block the Mongolian high-pressure dry air flow, the intrusion of the southward Siberian cold current, and Affected by the dry and hot winds in southern Xinjiang, the warm and moist airflow from the Atlantic Ocean and the Caspian Sea enters the Ili River Valley and is blocked by the mountains, forming abundant precipitation. This provides unique and superior climatic conditions for the growth of spruce, and the intact original landscape is preserved in the area. The natural vertical spectrum of spruce types and mountain vegetation is a typical representative of the Tianshan mountain forest ecosystem. It is currently the only original spruce forest with the best growth and concentrated distribution in the Tianshan forest area.
In addition to spruce forests, the reserve is also rich in animal and plant resources. Due to the beautiful local environment, pleasant climate and beautiful scenery, it is a popular tourist summer resort in Xinjiang.
