Introduction to Jianshan Temple: Jianshan Temple is located at the northeast foot of Bilian Peak and north of Shanshui Park. The original temple was built in the early years of Kaiyuan of the Tang Dynasty (about 713 AD). It is one of the oldest temples in Yangshuo and one of the eight old scenic spots in Yangshuo. The famous "Jiansi Monk Bell" landscape refers to this place. The great monk Jianzhen of the Tang Dynasty went to this temple to preach Dharma when he returned from his fifth failed trip to Japan. The poet Cao Ye of the Tang Dynasty sang peace with the resident monk Zhixian here, and it became a legend.
In 1916, the temple was abandoned and rebuilt into a building, so it was renamed "Jianshan Building"; in 1964, it was rebuilt into its current state, covering an area of ​​137 square meters. It was built on the mountain with two floors, the upper floor is open on three sides, and you can lean on the railing to enjoy the scenery. , it is refreshing. Although the "Jian Temple Monk Bell" no longer exists, the "Jian Mountain View" is one of the new famous sights in Shuocheng.
