Lighthouse introduction: The Yantai Mountain Lighthouse is the only landmark building in Yantai City. It was built in April 1988. It is a large navigation lighthouse located on the top of the mountain on the coast of Yantai Port. It is specially used for navigation of ships entering and leaving the port. However, it is not the earliest Yantai Mountain Lighthouse. The original Yantai Mountain Lighthouse was built by the British in the 31st year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1905). Due to its age and disrepair, the illumination was weak and dim, and it could no longer be used. In the 1980s, It was demolished in the early 1900s and later rebuilt as a new lighthouse. This lighthouse integrates navigation. Tourism and maritime traffic command are integrated. It was designed by Tsinghua University. The tower is 49.5 meters high and has a total of 12 floors. The bottom three floors are built in the shape of an ancient castle. There is an elevator that can go directly to the observation deck on the 11th floor. There is a 360-degree rotating lighting at the top, with a direct range of up to 30 nautical miles.
